The title get your attention?

Hang onto your biscuits, kids...this one's a beast, I left it at near-full resolution so you can see the details in their glory! Ten frames total, taken with the camera turned 90° for maximum land and sky coverage. North is to the left, and it goes all the way to southwest. I was tempted to go for a full 360° panorama, but decided to leave out the sun because it can cause problems with stitching. Here's a Google Maps link, hopefully centered on the top of the mountain.

Last Sunday (Mother's Day) I went on a punishing hike up Piestewa Peak (formerly Squaw Peak) in central Phoenix. It was 104F (40C) in the shade, fer cryin' out loud, and it's at times a very steep and rocky climb. Sun was beating down and I got sunburned despite wearing sunblock. Still, I took 1/2 gallon of water and this view is totally worth it! Plus, since it was Mother's Day, there were very few people...the woman on opposite peak had the best spot by far.

For you Phoenix area folks, you can see 7th Street on both the right and left-hand side of the image, as well as the open roof at Chase Field (formerly Bank one Ballpark) as well as other area landmarks.
