As you can see, I was standing a bit too close to the tracks :D This was originally going to be a series of shots as the subway approached, until I saw the father and son. It brought a flashback to 30 years ago and the times when my grandfather, who was a conductor for Amtrak for 41 years, would hold me the same way and we'd watch the trains approach the station. Almost brought a tear to m'eye ;)

Hope to get more subway shots next month!

I love the expressiveness and emotion in this one, Patrick...the colors and contrasts of light are wonderful, and so is the depth, but the emotion, beautiful, bittersweet.

I worked for the Long Island RR for four years, and sitll became excited each time a train pulled into the station.
Love the tones in this. Also, the depth given by the lines, very well composed. :)
OMG:!: This is a GREAT shot, Patrick  And, yes - you were a tad close to the edge I'd say, me-lad . . . :) I'm glad it brought back such sweet memories for you ;) Anyhoo - this is an awesome b/w photo and I agree with what's already been said about the depth. AND - I love the focus on the father and son . . . well done
i love how those bars along the side ...are ..chop chop chop chop ..merge merge merge ..SOLID its awesome i like that ...

and omg what if he dropped that kid ...that would be horrible.

eeek i can hear the screams ...my imagination is far too good for .....my own good :S ...i'm scared now ...shit man ...you got me scared ...way to go

but emotion floods ;)
bahaha I hadn't thought of that, but you are right! If he'd have dropped that kid near or on the tracks...total chaos :O
wow... nice shot...i love B&W shots ...even more when they are from train stations  nice work dear
What a wonderful memory, Patrick! This is beautifully captured!

haha that kid is cute
I like how there is such a dramatic difference between the right and left side, with the left being so bright and white, cool angle too. =D
